Privacy notice

This describes what Harro stores about you and why. It lists what the service actually records, not a general description of what a site of this kind might do.

What we hold

Your account

Name, email address, and a hashed password. We never store the password itself and cannot read it.

What you follow

The sources you subscribe to and the stories you save.

Feeds you add

The address of any feed you submit, and who submitted it.

Automated summaries

The briefings you run and the conversations you have with Harro, including your questions and the model's replies, plus how many tokens each used.

Helpdesk

Tickets you raise and the replies on them. Staff answering a ticket can read the whole thread.

Connectors

Which connectors an administrator has deployed to your account, and any note they attached.

Sessions

A session record with your IP address and browser user-agent, so you can stay signed in.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your data. It reaches other parties only in these ways:

• SCX.ai — when you run a briefing or ask Harro a question, the stories from your feed and your question are sent to SCX.ai to generate the reply. Do not put anything confidential into those boxes.
• Google Analytics — measures page visits. It sets cookies and Google receives your IP address.
• Google AdSense — the news pages carry advertising. Google receives your IP address and may set cookies to choose which advert to show and to measure it. We do not send Google your name, email address or what you have subscribed to or saved. You can review and change what Google uses at My Ad Center, and read how Google handles it in its partner-sites notice.
• Publishers — following a story link takes you to their site, where their own privacy terms apply. We do not tell them who you are, though images shown in your feed may be loaded from their servers.
• Our hosting provider — the service and its database run on their infrastructure.

Cookies

A session cookie keeps you signed in and a token cookie protects forms against cross-site submission. Both are necessary for the site to work. Google Analytics sets its own cookies for measurement. Google AdSense sets cookies on the news pages to select and measure advertising; those are not necessary for the site to work, and blocking them costs you nothing but the adverts.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while the account exists. Deleting your account removes your subscriptions, bookmarked stories, briefings, conversations, helpdesk threads and connector assignments along with it. You can clear a Harro conversation yourself at any time from that page.

Your choices

• Change your name, email or password on the account page.
• Clear a Harro conversation from the Harro page.
• Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion, through the helpdesk.

Depending on where you live you may have further rights over your data, including to object to how it is used or to complain to a regulator.
