Media Prima also concluded the first phase of its transformation plan, Odyssey, which began in 2016.
Meanwhile, Malay Mail reported that Media Prima will allegedly cut the number of editorial staff at the New Straits Times, Berita Harian, and Harian Metro by half.
Media Prima Television Networks’ CJ WOW SHOP also remained on the upswing with a 12% increase to RM169.9 million in 9MFY19 against RM151.9 million last year.
The partnership will leverage Media Prima's integrated media platforms for mass reach and experience in news publishing, education content, broadcasting operations, content creation and digital consulting.
Although group digital revenue for the first half of 2019 declined marginally by 3% against the corresponding period, Media Prima said it remained "a strong player" in the digital realm.
Its digital segment also saw a dip in revenue to RM17.4 million this year, as a result of slower growth from digital advertising and digital marketing early in the year.
