Trust is at an all-time high across Australia’s government, media and corporate institutions according to the latest Edelman Barometer Index - even as the trust-inequality gap remains significantly larger here than globally.
Australia has the highest trust inequality in the world, with local consumers lacking faith in everything from government to business, media and NGOs.
Mark Wang has been made Edelman's CEO for China, and Melinda Po its China chief growth officer. They currently lead the Beijing and Shanghai offices respectively.
He will also retain his current roles of managing director, North Asia (excluding China) and head of crisis communications, Asia Pacific.
The study finds that all four institutions (government, business, media, NGOs) are seen as unfair, with majority thinking that they serve the interests of only the few.
The incumbent on the account is Edelman and it is understood that Edelman will continue to handle PR duties in Australia following the appointment.
