The two companies plan to collaborate to identify proven use cases and commercialise IoT solutions, leveraging Sigfox technology with Celcom’s network to further accelerate the adoption of IoT in Malaysia.
Wong was previously with Celcom Axiata for more than three years, last helming the role of head of digital and consumer brands.
The incumbent on the account is M&C Saatchi, which is responsible for ads such as GUNA CELCOM, Adik Beradik and the popular 5 Sekawan series.
The hub will be an opportunity for business partners, technology developers, academia and industry players to experience the agile deployment of new 5G verticals and 5G use cases.
He said that with 5G development in Malaysia gaining rapid pace, the telco aims to roll out its 5G services in couple of years.
She starts her new role today and will manage a team of approximately 30 to 40 individuals.
