Grey Poupon responds to Olivia Wilde drama with saucy ‘Don’t Worry Dijon’ mustard jars

Grey Poupon released 100 limited-edition jars, replete with Wilde’s recipe for disaster.

Grey Poupon is capitalizing on the online chatter surrounding Olivia Wilde’s infamous salad dressing recipe.

The ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ director has been the center of a Twitterstorm after her former nanny alleged that a simple salad recipe was the culprit behind a bitter fight that broke out between the star and her ex-fiancé Jason Sudeikis.

The nanny claimed that Sudeikis, after discovering flirty text messages between Wilde and Harry Styles, threw himself under Wilde’s car to prevent her from delivering her “special salad dressing” (comprised of red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey, kosher salt and garlic) to the rock star.

Grey Poupon commemorated the moment by creating 100 special edition ‘Don’t Worry Dijon’ jars, each featuring the viral recipe and a cheeky line that reads “serve over salad; savor with style“ on the back.

“Grey Poupon is all about savoring joie de vivre and embracing life’s unexpected moments when they come along. After being called on and brought into #saladgate, how could we not enter the chat in a fun and playful way?” says Kraft Heinz’s senior marketing analyst Sema Dibooglu. “At Grey Poupon, and more broadly, at Kraft Heinz, we are transforming our marketing to lean heavier on creativity and to be more breakthrough in culture to better connect with our consumers. We’re thrilled at the response we’ve received and are looking forward to getting “Don’t Worry Dijon” jars into the hands of our fans.”

Unveiled on social media, the product has garnered mixed responses. One Instagram user commented: “Who wouldn’t lay underneath a car for this[?]” while another wrote, “The devil works hard, but Dijon works harder.”

The brand worked with creative agency Zeno Group on the stunt.

Consumers can follow Grey Poupon’s Instagram and Twitter accounts for a chance to score a ’Don’t Worry Dijon’ jar and keep pace of the drama as it continues to unfold.
