    Ad of the Day: time stands still in this moving Ikea spot

    To launch its new brand platform, Ikea Canada has released a short film that emphasizes how its products can bring a home to life.

    In the spot, viewers see a man opening the door to his new apartment for the first time. As he looks around the empty living space, he’s met with a group of people who appear to be completely frozen in various positions. Dotted about the room there are friends in a ‘sitting’ position with no chair, and small groups gathered around invisible tables.

    As the ad progresses, the man begins to fill his home with furniture until eventually he brings his family to their new house. Finally the ‘frozen’ people spring to life to welcome them excitedly.

    Soundtracked by a cover version of Elton John’s Your Song, the campaign made its debut during the 2022 Emmy Awards.
