Joe Nguyen is no longer chair at the Interactive Advertising Bureau South East Asia + India, (IAB SEA + India), having exited this July. Relinquishing his position at IAB SEA +India was in accordance with the organisation’s bylaws which stipulate that a regional board member must be a designated employee of a general member organisation.

Nguyen was formerly senior vice president of Asia-Pacific at Comscore and left this May amid widespread layoffs at the parent company. He had been voted in as chair of the IAB SEA + India for the second year running this March.Nguyen’s replacement as chair is yet to be announced.

Confirming Ngyuen’s exit to Mumbrella, IAB SEA + India regional CEO Miranda Dimopoulos said: “Joe has been involved in the IAB board since its inception in Singapore to being an integral part of our expansion.

“Removing his chair title is simply a matter of compliance as we are held to strict guidelines as a not for profit organisation. His responsibilities, commitment and engagement has not changed at all (thankfully).”

In a statement to Mumbrella, Nguyen said: “As I decide which next move to take, I am even more committed to the IAB SEA + India. I continue to mentor the brand safety working group and students from our government partnership developing programmatic talent.

“I am also finally able to attend events and board meetings around the region as I have wanted to for many years.”
