The Drum Digital Advertising Awards APAC 2019 are here to unearth the talented individuals, teams, products and services that are making the biggest difference in the digital advertising world.
To do this, we're bringing together industry experts from across APAC to decide who is the best in digital advertising. The judging panel features brands and agencies including Wunderman Thompson, Media Exchange Singapore, Kayo Sports, Mediacorp, Essence, S4Capital and Unilever, with more to be announced.
Following is a breakdown on five of our stellar judges:

Menon is passionate about creating meaningful brand experiences for the people who buy and love them. He believes that brands should focus on building better products, service or commerce experiences and more meaningful content and communication experiences. Over the last two decades, he has worked across the region on HSBC, Microsoft, United Airlines, Dell, IBM, GSK, Starbucks, Chanel, Kellogg’s, Nestle, Unilever, Volvo, and various others across B2C and B2B assignments.
Media is the pointy end of the communication spear, the bit that actually touches the consumer. It is incredibly important to get this piece right in order to make the brand’s investment meaningful to the consumer and impactful for the brand. I care deeply about media performance and innovation.

Shankar is a digital media marketing veteran carrying more than 15 years of proven leadership and expertise spanning digital marketing, adtech /martech platforms, performance marketing, attribution and data analytics, managing large teams and multi-million dollar budgets across JAPAC markets. He has recently taken up the role of CEO at Singapore Media Exchange to build and scale premium programmatic exchange in Singapore. In his previous roles he also served as the acting marketing manager at Dell South Asia, lead at mDigital/Mindshare interaction, set up Mediacom Interaction Singapore and led global digital media at Possible worldwide.
I believe The Drum digital advertising awards is a perfect lens to the digital industry of today and being part of the judging panel is certainly a lot more enriching than being part of the actual awards itself. I'm very much looking forward to seeing some true lateral thinking this time around- innovation but with scale and real life application attached to it

Matthews has worked in the digital marketing industry since 1999 across the UK, Australia and Singapore. He is currently director of customer acquisition at Kayo Sports, based in Sydney. In this role ge oversees all customer acquisition, including digital media, partnerships and distribution.Prior to Kayo, he most recently had a three-year spell in Singapore, where he was group head of performance and media at APD. In this role he was tasked with building out APD’s Digital Marketing capability across Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.
I am excited to be judging these awards again this year. With so much innovation happening in the space, it is great to see best in class practices from across the region. This year I am looking forward to seeing how digital is integrated into the broader marketing mix and how advertisers and agencies alike are utilising technology to drive real business results

Chase has 18 years experience working in digital across multiple markets in the APAC region. She has an intimate knowledge of digital media and strategies that range from awareness and branding, lead acquisition and content led programs. She currently heads up the digital sales and operations division at Mediacorp, Singapore’s National Broadcaster, responsible for driving the company's digital growth and acceleration via Programmatic and direct sales channels. Prior to this, Chase was the operations director at Amobee, and previously also spearheaded the regional business development strategy for CBS Interactive Asia Pacific.
It is always a privilege judging The Drum Digital Advertising Awards – a rich and diverse showcase of the best work APAC has to offer. The unique melting pot of creativity and digital-centric innovation happening in APAC makes you stop and think how much excellent work is happening in the region. This year I’ll be looking at marketing that matters -- when data informs insight and strategy to create experiences people remember and works for brands.

Niou heads Essence's programmatic media planning and activation team across the region. He joined the company in 2011 and has risen through the ranks, holding positions in disciplines including media planning, media investment and programmatic. Previously, he worked at DAE and Starcom in digital media planning and buying roles. With his diverse experience, Niou has developed a deep understanding of clients’ business requirements and challenges. He is currently a member of the Programmatic Committee at the Interactive Advertising Bureau Southeast Asia and India.
