Jane Lin-Baden the managing partner of Publicis Groupe Asia-Pacific has been given the additional mandate of managing Publicis Groupe’s North Asia region. The Groupe announced today that North Asia has been constituted as a distinct region including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and Japan.

Lin-Baden will continue to be based in Shanghai and will report to Publicis Groupe Asia-Pacific and Middle East and Africa CEO Loris Nold who is based in Singapore.

The country leadership teams across greater China, South Korea and Japan will now report directly to Lin-Baden. Publicis Groupe had appointed Bertilla Teo and Michael Lee as co-CEOs of Greater China this January. Under the previous structure, they were to report to Nold.

This marks a significant expansion of mandate for Lin-Baden who joined Publicis Groupe last October, having spent over a decade with Isobar. Her last role at Isobar was CEO of Asia-Pacific.

In response to a query from Mumbrella, a Publicis Groupe spokesperson said: “There are no changes to the management of these agencies across these markets.”

Asked about Nicolas Menat who was the designated CEO of Publicis Groupe North Asia and South East Asia, the spokesperson said: “Nicolas is focusing on South East Asia but he is also extending his remit as he’s been increasingly managing a number of global clients across the region.”

Speaking about the North Asia structure and Lin-Baden’s expanded mandate Publicis Groupe APAC and MEA CEO Loris Nold said: “North Asia is a critical region for us. I cannot think of a better leader than Jane to take this exciting challenge on.

“Our main focus is to partner with our clients in their transformation and I see a tremendous opportunity for us to better leverage our digital firepower, our content, production and digital business transformation offering across these markets for the benefit of our clients.

“These markets are large in scale, with many well established and emerging global brands while also representing a massive source of innovation with world class talents.”

Lin Baden added: “North Asia region presents tremendous opportunities and challenges to brands and business. We have consolidated media, creative, digital, business transformation consulting and technology services in one house operating with the Power of One.

“This makes Publicis Groupe stand out of the crowd in its ability to deliver incomparable value to our clients. We will be single-mindedly client centric. I am thrilled about working with our market leaders to accelerate our growth and innovation through simplicity and integration.”
