Myanmar-based public relations agency Echo has merged with digital marketing firm Revotech. Called Era Myanmar, the new agency aims to be an integrated communications specialist.

A press note from Era claims this to be ‘Mynamar’s first agency merger’.

The announcement:

Today, one of Myanmar’s leading public relations agencies, Echo Myanmar, and digital marketing firms, RevoTech, announced that they will merge to form a new agency, ERA Myanmar (ERA). The new integrated communications agency will be home to more than 70 experts across digital, creative and strategic communications fields, making it the largest such agency in the country.

The merger is the first-ever in Myanmar’s agency community and will address the evolving ways in which Myanmar audiences consume media and content. It combines RevoTech’s expertise in digital marketing technology with Echo’s expertise in public relations and strategic communications. The two are among the first movers in their respective fields in Myanmar’s new economy and their combined experience makes them the most complete integrated agency in the market.

Anthony Larmon, managing director of ERA Myanmar explains, “Traditional media is still important here, but we can’t ignore the rise of digital technology and changing media preferences. ERA is our answer to a yet-unanswered question in Myanmar: how should agencies adapt in the future to best serve clients and continue creating relevant campaigns that build lasting relationships with clients’ stakeholders?”

ERA’s extensive expertise in the region is founded eight years of combined experience communicating in and out of Myanmar with a deep understanding of the country and the ability to provide high-level counsel and service to clients.

“RevoTech led the way in marketing tech solutions, but what excites us about ERA is the ability to combine our two expertise to create bold new integrated campaigns across digital, traditional, event or creative channels. The niche capabilities and diverse leadership in this merger make ERA the most complete agency in Myanmar and we look forward to reaching any audience, on any channel with any message,” said Saw Thura Win, director at ERA Myanmar.

It will carry with it awards like Southeast Asia PR Agency of the Year (2018), New Consultancy of the Year (2017) by PublicAffairsAsia and seven campaign awards for guerilla marketing, telecommunications, technology, influencer management and branding. It is the first and only Myanmar agency to hold a global SABRE, the highest recognition for a campaign in the world.
