Twitch has expanded its client offering with the appointment of its first executive creative director. Byron Rex Phillipson.
The veteran creative who spent his career in London and in South Africa joins from Hulu.
He will lead marketing creative for Hulu brand, culture, live TV, and sports and helped develop Hulu’s live + SVOD in 2017.
At Twitch, he will lead the in-house global marketing creative team. reporting into chief marketing officer Kate Jhaveri.
Phillipson is credited with founding creative shops Flint + Tinder and also Starling. Before joining Hulu he was lead creative at Huge Inc, Los Angeles where he was responsible for experience design, brand platforms and campaigns for Nike, Amazon, Google, Apple, and more.

At Twitch, Phillipson will work across brand, experiential, product, and digital marketing campaigns from 22 April, based at Twitch’s HQ in San Francisco.
