Sports streaming service DAZN will launch in Spain in 2019 as its global expansion drive continues.
The specialist broadcaster will offer MotoGP and Premier League content to Spanish subscribers who will be able to watch on demand without the need to sign-up for a long-term contract.
DAZN has secured the rights to MotoGP from 2019 to 2022 while the Premier League has likewise awarded the service exclusive broadcast rights for all 235 games of the 2019/20 and 2021/22 seasons. More rights deals will be confirmed before launch.
Simon Denyer, chief executive of DAZN Group, said: “We give fans what they want; affordable and flexible access to the sport they love. We’re delighted to partner with these progressive rights holders to launch another big European market and look forward to unveiling more first-class sport before we go live in 2019.”
Launched in August 2016 in Japan, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, DAZN claims to be the fastest growing sports broadcaster and has ambitions to become the 'Netflix for sport'. It expanded into Italy and the US this year.
