Mother in New York announced that Mark Sloan has been named its head of Mother Design.
He came over from TBWA\Chiat Day, where he served for three years as its director of design for over three years. Mark’s prior experience included working on a list of clients that includes Apple, Airbnb, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Quiksilver.
Sloan has replaced Michael Ian Kaye, who was founder and executive creative director of the indie’s design practice. Kaye has exited his role to focus on developments of new concepts at Mother’s ventures portfolio, as well as projects that ‘speak directly to his passions of design, style, architecture and hospitality.
The new head of design has reported to Corinna Falusi, Mother’s chief creative. She said of the new hire: Mark will give you the most precious thing about your brand and screw with it in ways you never thought possible. said Corinna Falusi.“He’s magical in the way he maintains the integrity of your brand¨ but provides you the mindset you’re after.”
Sloan added: “I’ve always been inspired by Mother’s creative range¨ and admired its independence. Mother Design specifically has an incredible track record of crafting beautiful, intelligent work in a wide variety of categories. I’m really excited to be joining this supergroup — the future looks bright¨”
