The BBC has released a fresh series of its on-air idents, building upon its longstanding theme of 'Oneness' with short videos designed to reflect different communities from around the UK that have a shared passion.

Where previous iterations have featured wheelchair rugby team The Ospreys and a group of hippos swimming in harmony, the latest between-show images include a group of sausage dog walkers from Newcastle and steel drummers from Plymouth.

For the second year in a row, documentary photographer Martin Parr was commissioned by the BBC to shoot the short videos. The project was handled by BBC Creative, the in-house agency behind its recent operatic and embroidered World Cup 2018 film.

This phase of idents will launch on Saturday (14 July). 

As well as fuzzy dachshunds,  swing dancers from County Durham and cheerleaders from Manchester also make an appearance in the latest round of creative.

Finally, the BBC has additionally chosen to feature a taekwondo club from Trafford in action and volunteer lifeguards from Exmouth.

They showcase communities that are passionate about what they do and help reinforce the message that BBC One is a channel that brings the nation together to enjoy things we love," said Kerry Moss, portfolio head of marketing at BBC One. 

The BBC idents have been a staple on the public broadcaster for almost 65 years, which the first dedicated on-air symbol launching in 1953 - since then, there's been a number of different incarnations
