Publicis.Sapient, digital business transformation hub of Publicis Groupe, has appointed Teresa Barreira (pictured) as its chief marketing officer. Barreira will report to Nigel Vaz, CEO of Publicis.Sapient, global lead digital business transformation and executive committee member of Publicis Groupe.
In her new role, Barreira will oversee the global marketing function across over 100 offices, and spearhead efforts for marketing strategy, client experience, brand and corporate communications. In addition, she will be a member of the Publicis.Sapient executive leadership team, in a bid to support business growth and solidify the brand's position as a industry leader in digital business transformation.
Prior her appointment, Barreira was CMO of Deloitte Consulting. She brings over two decades of global, business-to-business marketing experience in the IT and professional services industries including brand building, digital, omni-channel, and client-centric strategies among others. Other consulting and technology firms she has worked with include Accenture and IBM.
This appointment also marks the next step in Publicis.Sapient's focus on delivering clients' transformation initiatives through its unique combination of technology, data sciences, creativity and deep industry expertise, the press statement read.
According to Vaz, Barreira was chosen for her vast experience and wealth of expertise, making her the "perfect person" to help drive Publicis.Sapient forward, and ensure its continued recognition as a market leader.
"Barreira has a tremendous track record as a senior leader with large technology and consulting firms, building strong market leadership and differentiation as well as leading high performance global teams," Vaz added.
"As the worlds of marketing, technology and consulting converge, and as clients look to keep pace with changing consumer expectations, partners in these efforts are more important than ever. I'm thrilled to be joining such a renowned market leader as Publicis.Sapient and for the opportunity to make significant impact for our clients at a time of such unprecedented opportunity," Barreira said.
