Accenture releases an interesting report on the use of technology in organisations. What is interesting is the point where there is diminished returns in the use of technology. Europeans seem to think that they spend too much time at the computer. Americans don’t seem to have an issue with technology. And China is the heaviest consumer of social media.
India seems to be heavy on email and corporate technology but less savvy on mobile platforms.
However, one thing is certain, and that is social computing doesn’t actually require significant services of Accenture, unless Accenture itself starts building social platforms for companies. Wow! What an excellent idea.
Imagine Sharepoint or Lotus Notes twisted into the next social media platform at work.
